"Cooking pot, carrots, milk, and cheese," mused Starrbolt as he checked the contents of his backpack. "Yes, everything she asked for."

A few portal jumps took the elf to Lytelthorpe, where he gave the backpack to his longtime associate, Ali Kazam. She skillfully cooked the ingredients into a cheese-topped carrot soup. Then Starr carried the soup, in a sealed container, to the bandit castle north of Arwic.

There, he gave the soup to Karwin, the crazy man by the gate, in exchange for information and a key.

"Diola lle," Starr said and bowed. "My friends and I appreciate your help. Some time ago, a group of elves explored the Small Ice Cave and found a locked door at the bottom. Now, with this key, perhaps we can return and discover what lies beyond."

Camris, Ilustriel, Lywnis, and Starrbolt all made the trip to the bottom of the Small Ice Cave and used Karwin's key. After disposing of iron golem guardians, the elves found a chest that contained treasure, including an Old Volume.

Starrbolt took the Old Volume to the library of Cragstone Outpost, where he sought help from a scholar, Bretself the Translator. Bretself the Translator transcribes the Old Volume for Starrbolt.
Bretself tells about translating the Empyrean writing of the Old Volume.

"Quite disturbing, indeed," mused Starrbolt. "But, what does it all mean? More mysteries of Dereth to be explored."
