Lucky Cashban

Description - Lucky is obnoxious, hyper and hungry for women, yet has a (well-hidden) sensitive side. He'll be a good Lieutenant if he doesn't run out of sugar. Lucky stands 5'8", weighs 160 pounds and sports blond hair and piercing hazel eyes. He flaunts his half-elven blood by maintaining a mustache and goatee.

History - Lucky received his name from Macyle (9 fingers) the Guild Master of the Britain Thieves guild. Macyle had just robbed a rich merchant named Cashban and in a desperate attempt to escape pursuing guards he ran into the Britain orphanage. When the humble priests asked Macyle if he was there to help a parentless infant he quickly answered, “Yes!” Macyle took the first child brought to him who happened to be a half-elf child. Macyle named the child “Lucky” for if he had not entered the orphanage he would have been caught. Lucky saw many things as a child while in the Thieves Guild that molded him into the person that he is today. He saw the worst of edain lives. But the elf blood in him always pulled him to noble aspects even in the worst times. Trust is hard for Lucky as in the Thieves Guild he learned there is no honor among thieves and to trust no one. He has saw men get their throats slit in their sleep for a mere 25 gold pieces. He saw other thieves ignore the fine art of Picking Pockets and apt for murder to get what they wanted, killing there victims and looting there corpses like buzzards. But he also saw thieves who acted with a shred of nobility in themselves. He saw some steal from the rich and then walk among the beggars who were starving and give the loot away. He once saw a group of warriors run away leaving a small child to die at the hands of a troll. However a thief named Greywolf rushed in stabbing the troll over and over in the back giving the child time to escape and costing him his own life. He saw how edain treated each other, not caring about life but social status. Because of these things Lucky has a slightly warped sense of right and wrong or a lack of conscience development. He believes that as long as the end outcome is good that the moral means on how that is accomplished is not that important.

Lucky always felt wrong about the skills Macyle taught him, and he hated stealing from innocent people. However to survive he did what had to be done. He chose to steal from edain that called him bastard or half-breed. This went on for years until Macyle’s luck finally ran out. On the day that Macyle was hanged in the town proper Lucky set out to find a new way of life—one that would lead to self-discovery. Wandering through the forest half starved, he met a bard named Gavin. Gavin fed Lucky and suggested to him that he was not half human but half elf and that there was a town where he might possibly accepted. The town was called Tel’ Ruid. Thus the second great influence in Lucky’s life was the Bard Gavin, who showed Lucky the aspects of Nature. He showed Lucky things he had never seen before--baby birds breaking through into the world from their egg. Catching the first gulp of air. Fawns playing and romping with their mothers and with this Lucky gathered a sense of purpose. A sense that maybe there was a reason for everything that happens and for the first time he started to trust another person. Lucky also recognized for the first time the gnawing that had been in his heart for so long. He recognized a sense of loss from losing his parents and heritage. Lucky traveled with Gavin across the land learning the basic of barding until one day Gavin told Lucky it was time for him to strike out on his own and find himself along with Tel’ Ruid. So Lucky followed every rumor and story he heard about the elven village of Tel’ Ruid. Finally his search paid off and he stood in the Glade filled with Joy.

Lucky only knows what Macyle has told him of his family which is that his Father and Mother were killed by orcs shortly after his birth. As an infant he was used as a joke by the orcs on the elves and humans until a human warrior party raided the village and found him. The warriors took him to the Britain Orphanage where Macyle adopted him.

Lucky hoped to develop and use his skills of archery, provocation, musicianship, tactics, anatomy, healing, peacemaking and disguises to work for him and to find a place for himself among the elves.
