History - Amin naa Valdolen Naurcam...
It was twenty-one years ago, more or less as the edan count time, that my first cries sounded through the halls of Eska tel'Naurcamea. Even then I could feel the love and haappiness of my parents, Strongbow and Luthien Firehand, as they held me between them. My atara's emerald green eyes shimmered down at me as I slept in her arms. Of course, I knew them both already. My atar and atara had spoken to me before my birth; beginning my knowledge of the world I had just entered.
The days and years that followed were filled with the joys od childhood, running through Tel'Ruid, chasing the animals, the adolescent awe at the flight of an eagle, and of course the normal mischief associated with youth. Some of my favorite times were fishing with my atara out on our boat, the Shaemir. I did not like the sea monsters very much, but I loved the dolphins, and could not understand why my atara would not let me dance the waves with them. I would swear to her that they sang to me! But she would just smile. My atara taught me to listen to the woods, hearing the life that surrounded me. She also taught me manners and be polite. She taught me to respect others, that the differences between us all make life much more interesting to live.
Also however, this new life was filled with learning. I can still remember my father handing me a knife, so small in his hands but almost as a sword to me at this time, and instructing me in its use. I watched him perform circling parries, flips, and thrusts in a dance so fluid as to be mesmerizing. I can also recall mine own fumbling as I would hit, and be knocked to the ground by the training dummy on its return swing. Eventually, with pratice and his patience, it became easier and easier. Swordplay was not my only study however. Many books he had on sorcery, the anatomy of cretures, the healing arts, the varied governments and peoples of Brittania, and it's many languages. I read them all. Many times.
My path as a Bladesinger had begun, in the tradition of teh Firehands, and now as a part of a larger family, Tel'Mithrim, it will continue...
