History

Soon after the members of Tel'Mithrim arrived in the world of Britannia, they began their search for a new home. Elves are more sensitive to nature than humans and generally prefer more natural settings. With its expansive and sparsely populated woods, the forests of Yew were a logical choice. The particular site was chosen for its distance from Yew; a relatively inaccessible location was mandatory so the Elves could establish themselves with minimal interference from the all-too-numerous humans. Yet, with Britannia's unfamiliar magic structure, the location could not be extremely difficult to access, lest straggling members be deterred from rejoining the group.

After evaluating several sites in the Yew forest, the area near the Shrine of Justice was chosen. It was out of the way of the road systems and far from the Yew moongate, considered the primary mode of travel for Britannians at the time. There was some concern that the proximity to the Shrine of Justice would bring an increased number of travelers unintentionally to the village, but these fears proved to be unsubstantiated. Additionally, as distant as it was from the population centers, directions to the site are quite easy to follow. One should note that, at the time the site was chosen, monsters did not inhabit the area as they do now-travelers were unfortunate (or fortunate, as the case may be) if they came across just one monster between Yew and Tel'Ruid. Thus, the only challenge to venturing to the site was the commitment of time.

In the eleventh month of the year 1997, the Elves constructed the first building of the village, the Training Hall. It was later renamed the Swordmaster's Dojo. As more members arrived in Britannia, Tel'Ruid began to take shape quickly, expanding around the west side of the bay. Over the next few years, several other groups lived at the north end of the bay. Most declared themselves enemies of Tel'Mithrim, but none survived the trial of time for more than a handful of months.

At the end of the following year, the tavern Chez Triel opened, which was later renamed the Silver Arrow. This ushered an influx of visitors who wished to interact (whether with good intentions or not) with the members of Tel'Mithrim. Public events were organized by the guild to enhance the community and increase the village's popularity. The village prospered with all the attention and caught the eyes of the Seers and gods. In the third month of the year 1999, the gods blessed the village. Among the gifts were several unique decorations for the Silver Arrow and archery buttes in front of the Swordmaster's Dojo.

When news of the creation of the Trammel facet reached Tel'Mithrim, it was quickly decided that they would move to the new facet. Many weeks were spent planning the layout of the new village. In the seventh month of the year 2000, almost all of the planned buildings were built successfully in Trammel. There now stands Tel'Ruid, which continues to serve as refuge and home for those of Elven blood.
