Travel by land to Tel'Ruid can be a difficult task, as it is far from other towns, and the surrounding forests are inhabited by several groups of monsters and brigands. Therefore, such travel is not recommended for those with lower constitutions. Instead, one may wish to visit the Yew Bank in Empath Abbey. Tel'Ruid citizens regularly travel there, and a polite visitor may be able to gain a magical ride, or at least, an escort to Tel'Ruid.

For those who wish to walk or ride to the Elven village, the directions are quite simple:

1. From the Yew moongate, walk straight east.
2. You will encounter a building that is frequently home to skeletons. This is part of the structure called the Yew Crypts-and the only such building to have doors. This is slightly less than half way to Tel'Ruid. Keep walking straight east from this building.
3. If you have walked straight east, you will pass by a large brick building: The Silver Arrow. If instead you encounter water, you very likely passed through Tel'Ruid already. Fear not, you haven't left Tel'Ruid either. Welcome!
